one layer floral spray

Hello there! I’m back today with another of my all-time favourite ClarityCraftsstamps – ‘Tina’s floral spray’, which I’ve paired with one of the new ‘celebrations’ sentiments. I decided to put an alternative take on the sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments, turning it into a one layer card with the colours from Inspire.Create and the birthday inspiration from Addicted to Stamps.

Taking a 6×6 card blank, I used a square embedder to create a frame, then stamped the floral spray inside it with ‘shadow grey’ Archival ink. I ran low tack tape around the top, bottom & right hand card edges (overlapping the frame) and then brushed ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across it, sweeping from right to left so I had a soft edge across the flowers.

I then set about shading the image with my Pergaliner pencils,

The final step was to stamp the sentiment to overlap the flowers, using black Archival ink.

And that’s all there was to it – sheer simplicity!
