new year dresses

Hello everyone. Bit of a change of focus with today’s card (although it’s still very CAS!) This is the ‘new year party’ set of stamps that’s part of the collection designed by Linda Williams for ClarityCrafts that I launched on TV last Saturday. I’m sharing this one with a new-to-me challenge at Make My Monday, whose currrent theme is ‘let’s celebrate’ (and who doesn’t love a party dress for the New Year?)

I strated by creating a frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank using one of the square embedders. I stamped the dresses on stands and heat embossed them with WOW’s superfine gold powder – top tip: run a piece of low tack tape across the card to give you a guideline to line up the base of the images. I added a couple of bows in the corners and then used ‘evergreen bough’ and ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxides with a water brush to colour in these fab little dresses and bows.

I used a torn piece of copy paper to lightly sponge the ‘evergreen bough’ across the bottom of the dress stands so they had something to stand on and weren’t floating in mid-air! I finished by simply stamping the sentiment above the dress stands and it was done!

I love these dress images – they’ll make fabulous birthday cards as well!
