festive topiary

Hello again! I’ve been busy today getting ready for tomorrow’s TV shows – I’ll be on Create and Craft TV at 1pm & 4pm, launching a new collection of ClarityCrafts Christmas stamps designed by Linda Williams. Here’s one to whet your appetite using the ‘festive topiary’ set and a little pencil colouring, picking up the red, brown & green from Color Dare‘s new grid and the festive theme from Just Add Ink

I started with a square of stencil card and stamped the topiary base in ‘potting soil’ Archival ink, then added the mistletoe ball on top of it with ‘library green’. I then coloured the whole image with Pergaliner pencils – I turned the leaves on the base red, as I thought they could be lovely big piece of ribbon or fabric tied round it.

I took a torn piece of copy paper and sponged ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide acropss it to give my plant some ground to stamp on, added a piece of scrap card behind the topper to lift it slightly and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

Come and join me on Create & Craft TV tomorrow if you’re free – I’ve got lots more to show you with this delightful collection.
