star flower spray

Hello cratfy friends. It’s only just over a month to go to this year’s ClarityCrafts summer retreats, so I thought I’d better use up some more of the backgrounds we made last year – I’ve got half a folder of them still! I do love ‘Barbara’s star flower spray’ stamp set too (this one is the A5 version), which I decided would work for the sketch at Atlantic Hearts with the palette from Creative Colour

My background was done with a brayer and acrylic paints, just picking the paint up from a craft mat and lightly rolling it across the card. I had a perfect piece with red and mint tones on it, so trimmed that down to fit a slimline card blank (UK DL size) and stamped the floral spray on it with black Archival ink.

I then set about using all the infill stamps from the set (they’re all helpfully numbered, so you know exactly which goes where!) to add colour to the image, with ‘festive berries’, ‘salvaged patina’ & ‘lucky clover’ Distress Oxides. I also dotted the infill stamp from the little side sprays around the flowers with the ‘salvaged patina’

To finish, I added dots around the flowers with a micron pen, edged the topper with a black Sharpie and attached it to a slimline card blank, finishing with a black word sticker.

That’s about as close as I get to ‘mixed media’ after yesterday’s very CAS card!
