woodland aperture

Hello everyone. I’m looking forward to Barbara’s Clarity shows on CreateandCraft TV this afternoon, with lots of lovely goodies! I’ve got a couple more here to share with you – the woodland aperture & birds die set and the letterbox alphabet.

I started by cutting the leafy aperture die from a piece of white card, having put a layer of thin double-sided adhesive on the back first, and attached it to a piece of the Waimea Falls designer card.

I was planning to use a 5×7 card blank, and decided to stamp the sentiment directly on to it, using the letterbox alphabet set. The first step was to stamp the letterboxes – the set helpfully has three, two and single ones, which means you can create any length of word. I needed it to say ‘thank you’ – easy to use the triple box for the second word, and I simply used the pre-cut masks to be able to add the single stamp on each side, giving me 5 boxes. All I then needed to do was add the letters into each of the boxes.

I added a narrow black mount behind the die cut (mirroring the black outline on the letterboxes) and attached it to the card front. The final step was to die cut two of the birds and nestle them amongst the leaves.

This card’s heading off to friends of mine in Canada, who we spent a fantastic day with while we were over there. They took us on a tour of several wineries in the Niagara area, ending the day with dinner at Hamilton on the shore of Lake Ontario. The designer paper really reminded me of the view we had from our table!

So finally, I’m going to share this with a couple of blog challenges, having picked up the sketch from Atlantic Hearts and the summer vibe from the inspiration photos at Hand Stamped Sentiments
