framer landscape

Hello crafty friends. I’m sharing another of my demos from yesterday’s TV shows – this one using the ‘leafy framer’ set from ClarityCrafts was a bit rushed at the end of the 1pm show, so hopefully this post will give you time to walk through it a bit more slowly! It’s only 4 weeks til Father’s Day, so it’s a good time to get ahead with a few cards as well. I’m also sharing with Freshly Made Sketches as a second offering for their current layout.

The first step was to stamp the larger part of the frame onto half a 6×6 card blank. I then turned to the mountains & hills mask and brushed ‘rustic wilderness’ across it (repositioning a few times) to creare the ground. I then brushed ‘broken china’ across the clouds mask for the sky. Next was to colour in the leaves on the frames – although the pack looks like an autumn set, you can easily change the look of this with different colours. I went with shades of green for a more summery look, using a waterbrush and my blending mat to pick up Distress Oxides in ‘rustic wilderness’, ‘mowed lawn’, ‘evergreen bough’, ‘lucky clover’ and ‘peeled paint’.

I added the man & boy pair from the ‘wee folk’ set 1 and a sentiment from the new ‘bijou retro’ stamps, before mounting the card on a layer of green Northern Lights companion paper and attaching it to a 7×7 card blank.

I really love how this turned out – the framer stamps are brilliant! I did think I should have sub-titled this card ‘one day, son, all this will be yours’….!!
