D for Dancing at Alphabet Challenge

Good morning crafty friends. I promised you a peek at the new stamps from ClarityCrafts that I’ll be launching on Create and Craft TV tomorrow – ‘Tina’s bijou retro stamps’. It’s also the start of our new theme at Alphabet Challenge and Dawn has given us ‘D for Dancing’. Lots of possibilities here, but the little ballerina from Clarity’s ‘wee folk’ stamps caught my eye. I’ve also taken the layout from Freshly Made Sketches.

I started with the starry script stamp from the new set and stamped it around the edge of a small square of stencil card with ‘violet’ Archival ink. If you look closely, you can see that the stamp is offset around the edge – to get it to form the frame, I stamped it along each edge starting from the right hand corner, turning the card each time. Basically that put an extra star along each edge, which fitted the card perfectly! I then added my wee ballerina with ‘prickly pear’ Archival, and sponged a little of the ‘violet’ across a piece of torn copy paper to give her some ground to stand (or pirouette?) on.

I used a square embedder to create a frame on the front of a 5×5 card blank and then simply attached the topper into the centre.

There’s so much more to show you with these new stamps – join me tomorrow at 1pm & 4pm.
