bijou birthday dangles

Hello everyone and welcome to Sunday! I’ve got another sample to share with you from yesterday’s shows, this time using the new ‘bijou birthday dangles’ stamp set from ClarityCrafts and a little inky play! It won’t be a great surprise to see that I’m going to share this with Seize the Birthday, but it’s also a perfect fit for the ‘something new’ theme at Inspire.Create

The first thing was to make the inky panel for my background. I covered half a 5×5 card blank with a couple of pieces of Clarity’s mask material, leaving a gap between them. I then put some ‘wilted violet’ and ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxides onto a blending mat, spritzed them with water and dabbed the card into the ink. You do need the mask material, not low tack tape, for this as it’s waterproof. I peeled the masks off the card and left it to dry – I could then stamp ‘birthday’ across the panel using black Archival ink and add several of the dangles to hang down from the word. Out came my favourite Pergaliner pencils to shade in the word and the little images in co-ordinating colours.

It really didn’t need much else, so I simply ran a black Sharpie around the card edges, then used a square embedded on the front of a 6×6 card blank for a frame and attached the topper in the centre.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m still coughing away over here, but think it might be finally easing a bit…
