Geisha

Hello there! There’s an exciting launch of some brand new stamps from ClarityCrafts on TV tomorrow, when Barbara will be showcasing these fab new Japanese Geisha stamps that were originally drawn as part of the SHAC Facebook sessions.

I took half a 6×6 card blank to use as my topper, stamped the geisha onto it with black Archival ink and covered her with a mask. I then stamped her parasol into place and masked that off too. I next stamped the waterlilies with ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxide, using the mask where I wanted the two flowers together. I sponged a little ‘broken china’ around them to create the water, then brushed the same colour over the clouds mask to create the sky, finally brushing a little more of the ‘mowed lawn’ to create the ground.

I shaded the geisha and her parasol with Pergaliner pencils, adding a touch of pink to the waterlilies as well.

I finished with one of the Japanese sentiments, added an off-set mount of black card and attached the whole piece to a 7×7 card blank.

I’ll be sharing more designs with these lovely stamps over the next few days. First, though, I’m heading over to The Card Concept and Colorful Options to add this to their galleries.
