Travel gently…

Hello crafty friends! You may be wondering why I’ve got a row of houses and a travel sentiment – well, today’s the day I’m off to Brussels with my sister for her birthday trip! We’re staying near the Grand-Place and the ‘wee houses’ from ClarityCrafts really reminded of those beautiful buildings in Belgium. I went with the palette from Color Throwdown and layout from Freshly Made Sketches on this one, for a bit of a different look.

I used half a 5×5 card blank for my topper, ran a piece of masking tape across it to give me a guide line and stamped each of the five houses in the set using ‘potting soil’ Archival ink. They come with pre-cut masks, so I covered each of them over and brushes ‘antique linen’ and ‘walnut stain’ Distress Oxides into the background. After removing all the masks and the tape, I coloured the buildings with Pergaliner pencils (plus a cream Polychromo)

I then simply added part of one of the quote stamps below the row of houses, again with the ‘potting soil’, ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

We got the Eurostar from St Pancras first thing this morning with a hopefully smooth journey!
