a birthday bloom

Welcome to my crafty blog and another spring-time birthday card for a friend. Today I’ve gone with the ‘three blooms’ stencil from ClarityCrafts, taking inspiration from the sketch and colours at Inspired by plus the stencil theme at Just Us Girls

I’ve used all three of the flowers on the stencil on this card, starting with the smallest one in ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxide onto the centre of a piece fo card cut to fit a 6×6 blank. I then lined up the second flower and brushed ‘squeezed lemonade’ through it (I forgot to grab a photo at that point). finally, I bushed ‘mowed lawn’ through the largest flower. Top tip – I just brushed the ink in from the outer edge of the stencil each time, to limit the overlapping with the previous image.

To finish, I added a layer of green card before attaching it to a 6×6 card blank, then stamped a couple of the sentiments from the ‘occasions-happy birthday’ set with black Archival ink.

Thanks for dropping in. It’s a busy weekend over here with lots going on, but I’ll be back with another offering tomorrow.
