London at Christmas

Welcome to this week’s Christmas card – so far I’m managing to keep up with my personal challenge of one each week! I decided I should make use of Clarity‘s London skyline mask from last Saturday’s TV shows (as I work in London, I already know who this one is going to!) I took further inspiration from a couple of current blog challenges – Christmas Craft Creations are looking for designer paper on our cards and Peace on Earth have got a lovely collection of Santas on their moodboard, plus Merry Little Christmas have their usual ‘anything goes’ theme.

I started with a piece of Clarity’s Indian Summer designer card, which I cut down to fit a 6×6 card blank – I know it sounds like an odd choice for a Christmas card, but I liked the colours and thought it would make a great sky effect! I laid the upper part of the London skyline mask onto the card, added in all the little extra bits for Tower Bridge, the London Eye & Big Ben and then brushed ‘watering can’ Archival ink onto the card.

I stamped Santa in his sleigh with two reindeer from the ‘wee folk – Christmas’ set, again using the ‘watering can’ ink

I drew in the reins for the reindeer with a micron pen (can’t have them heading off on their own!) and gave Rudolph at the front a little red nose with a Pergacolour pen. I added a mount of black card, attached it to a 6×6 card blank and finished with a word sticker.

I rather like the atmospheric look of this card – what do you think?

  1. wondered where that Santa came from, I don’t have the Christmas wee folk though it looks quite big for a wee folk stamp. Agree the background looks great
