peace bauble

Here we are at Wednesday again and I’ve got another Christmas card to share with you. This time I’ve used ClarityCrafts‘ ‘peace on earth’ stamp set, another one of their two-way overlay sets. I was inspired by the current challenge at The Card Concept, together with the ‘anything goes’ themes at Merry Little Christmas and The Holly & Ivy

I started by stamping the image onto a square of card with black Archival ink. I then took the infill stamp (which colours the background), sponged ‘peeled paint’, ‘ripe persimmon’ and a little ‘speckled egg’ Distress Oxides onto it, gave it a quick spritz with water and stamped it over the black image.

I covered the image with the pre-cut mask that comes in the set and lightly brushed ‘speckled egg’ into the sky behind it and ‘peeled paint’ for the ground. I added the little row of trees from the ‘woodland miniatures’ set on either side of the bauble, again with the ‘peeled paint’.

I went round the bauble with grey Polychromos to add a drop shadown, then edged the card and gave the bauble a string to hang from with a black Sharpie, added a mount of Amazonia companion paper and attached the whole piece to a 6×6 card blank.

So that’s another in the bag well ahead of time!
