rainbow apertures

Welcome to my crafty blog and a look at the new ‘Abstract Layout 5’ die from ClarityCrafts that was released yesterday. It works in so many ways, but I’ve kept it very simple on this one, just using a rainbow of scrap paper pieces in the apertures. It nicely fits the challenges at AAA Colourful and Addicted to CAS, so here we go…

The first step was to cut the die into a square of white card to fit on a 6×6 card blank and glued it into place. I then used the die with several offcuts of Clarity’s companion papers to cut the rainbow shapes. I started with the side pieces first, doing four of them together, then repeated it with the intervening pieces.

I then simply pieced all the papers into the apertures, finishing with a couple of the mini word chain stamps into the centre

Now everyone loves a rainbow, but this one was a bit special for me. When I saw the design of the die, it immediately made me think of the rainbow container sculpture (fondly known locally as the ‘containerbow’!) we caught sight of in Fremantle, Western Australia, last year during our travels – what do you think?

  1. Beautiful rainbow card, and fabulous use of the die and paper scraps! You have really captured the “containerbow” in the photo. Thank you for sharing and playing along with us at AAA Colourful, hope you’ll join us in future challenges too. Take care, keep crafting and stay colourful!
