Hello there! I’m back with another card featuring the new ‘Just Flowers’ A5 stamp set from ClarityCrafts, this time just using the hydrangea blooms stamp and some masking! I’ve picked up the floral theme from TGIF Challenges, together with pink, non-rectangle (a square card & circle of flowers), supportive sentiment and bouquet from Festive Friday‘s inspo list.

I started with a square of white stencil card (cut to fit on a 6×6 card blank), drew a pencil circle in the centre as a guide and then stamped the hydrangea four times with ‘fern green’ Archival ink. I cut a couple of masks from Clarity’s mask material, so that I could cover two of the hydrangea at a time and stamp another one into the gap to then complete the circle.

I sat and coloured the flowers with Pergacolour pens in three shades of pink (that took a while as I shaded the petals randomly to blend the colours!), then did the leaves with a couple of Pergaliner pencils.

I stamped the sentiment into the centre with ‘fern green’ Archival, then added a layer of Indian Summer companion paper and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

I love how vibrant this turned out! Did you know that the colours of hydrangeas, which range from blue, red & pink through to light and dark purple, are affected by the pH of the soil they are growing? Apparently, acidic soils will produce flowers with more blue tones, whilst alkaline favours pink shades. This little blog is nothing if not educational!!

Gorgeous -= lovely use of the colours. And yet again – I’ll be sending you all my stuff which needs masks – fussy-cutting and masking really not my thing…… well done xx
