W for Wedding at Alphabet Challenge

Hello crafty friends. It’s time for a new letter at Alphabet Challenge – we’ve reached W and Dawn has opted for ‘weddings’ as our theme. I’ve used one of the small stamps from ClarityCrafts‘ ‘doodleology heart’ set, which Barbara will be showcasing on Create & Craft TV tomorrow (Saturday).

I started with a square of stencil card and drew myself a couple of pencil guidelines so I could see the centre of the card, then stamped the doodled heart twice. I framed them with one of the square embedders (with the rounded corners) and added the mini word chain sentiments below the hearts, before erasing the pencil lines. I shaded the hearts with red and pink Pergacolour pens, having first put down an ‘undercoat’ with a pink Pergaliner pencil so the colours didn’t bleed.

I mounted the card onto a layer of pink Indian Summer companion paper and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

How will you use our wedding theme? There’s so much scope on this one, and we love to see your creations in the Alphabet gallery. I’m going to share this one with a few challenges: Color Hues for their red & pink theme, Simply Clean & Simple who’ve got pink as their optional theme, and Addicted to CAS who are looking for hearts.

  3. Deborah, you always make lovely CAS cards and this wedding card is no exception. The Zentangle style hearts is fabulous and I love the framing and the almost whimsical font of the sentiment! Thank you so much for joining us at Color Hues!
