floral friends – daisy

Welcome back to my little blog! Today’s card uses one of the ‘floral friends three-way overlay’ stamp sets from ClarityCrafts – this is ‘daisy and friends’. I picked up the shades from Creative Colour Challenges together with the layout from Freshly Made Sketches

I started with the background, cutting two circles with one of the ‘nested circle doodle aperture frame-it’ dies into a square of stencil card. I stamped one of the ‘occasions’ sentiments in ‘cobalt’ Archival ink, added a mount of navy card and attached the whole piece to a 6×6 card blank.

Turning to the ‘daisy & friends’ set, I stamped the outline (number 1) stamp onto a spare piece of stencil card with black Archival ink. I switched to number 3 stamp (the background), sponged a little ‘chipped sapphire’ and ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide onto it, keeping to the outer part, gave it a quick spritz with water and stamped it over the image. Rather than use the number 2 stamp to colour the image, I decided to use orange and green Pergaliner pencils to shade the flowers and leaves instead.

Once coloured, I cut the image out with a nested circle die, added a bit of scrap card on the back to lift it slightly and attached it to the card front.

Love these stamps – there are 6 flowers to choose from so lots of creative opportunity! And I’m sorry about the dull photos – it was a very grey evening yesterday when I was crafting!

  1. This is lovely. The die cuts behind your focal circle look great. I have some new dies coming and you’ve inspired an idea for using one of them with this card.
