a bicycle built for two

Hello crafty friends. Today’s card is a bit of an alternative take to all the pink hearts for Valentine’s Day. I love the little tandem bike from ClarityCrafts new ‘wee transport’ sets and thought it was ideal to go with the couple on the bench from the ‘wee folk 1’ set. I’m going to share this with the challenges at TGIF and AAA Cards

I started with a piece of ‘Barb’s favourite – Amazonia’ paper, then brush ‘black soot’ Distress Oxide through the grass mask from the ‘deerscape’ set. I switched to the ‘mountains’ mask and lightly brushed more of the ‘black soot’ through that, to create the landscape.

I then added the couple and their bike with black Archival ink, sponging the ground below them with a piece of torn copy paper.

I popped the paper on a narrow white mount and a layer of Amazonia companion paper, then attached it to a 7×7 card blank and added a word sticker.

Can’t you just imagine that they’ve been out on a bike ride in the Scottish highlands and parked up to sit and admire the view together? That fab little tandem immediately made me think of the old music hall song ‘Daisy, Daisy’ – it definitely is love!

Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer, do!
I’m half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won’t be a stylish marriage,
I can’t afford a carriage,
But you’ll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!

  1. Love the card and how you put it together. Lovely design and perfect for the challenges. I’m going to be singing that song all day now.

  2. Gosh what a fab scene card and yes I’m enjoying the hearts but appreciate something a little bit out of the box. I owned a tandem bike when I was a teenager with my best friend at the time and we had great adventures so your card bought back some long forgotten memories. Thanks for sharing and playing along with us (again) at AAA Cards this week, lets keep the love in the air going …….
