open-topped car

Hello crafty friends. I’m back with another offering using ClarityCrafts‘ new’Just wings and wheels’ stamps. I wanted a vintage feel for this classic car, so used a dried teabag as the background. I’m going to share it with Seize the Birthday, hoping the team there will accept my teabag as the ‘kraft’ part of their challenge!

So, I started with the teabag (having emptied the leaves from it!) and glued it onto a piece of white card (use a glue stick and work from the centre of the teabag outwards). I then stamped the car in black Archival ink and shaded it with red Pergaliner pencils, using a black one for the wheeles, etc. I added shadow under the car with grey & dark red pencils.

I then simply attached it to a black 5×5 card blank & finished with one of the sentiments from the set.

I hope you’ve had a good weekend! It’s been a busy one here with my son’s birthday – he and his mates were partying til the wee small hours last night, and we followed that with a fun-filled family lunch today!

  1. What a great masculine card. I really like how it looks. I’ve never used a teabag in crafting and this is inspiring me to try. We don’t drink much tea but the next time I have a guest who does, I’ll be saving the bag.

  2. Brilliant idea to use the tea bag like that! And, (being someone who has never used it before) I am surprised by how well the stamped image stays and the colors look vibrant as well. Great card, Deborah. Thank you so much for joining us at the Seize the Birthday challenge!
