Hello there. It’s Friday again and time for a new challenge at As You See It. It’s a colour theme this time, which was perfect for one of the new ‘floral panel’ stamp sets from ClarityCrafts that will be launching tomorrow (more of that in a minute…)

I started by sponging ‘scattered straw’ Distress Ink around the edge of the small ‘heart backdrop’ stamp and stamped it onto a square of white card. I then added the floral heart and one of the sentiments from the ‘just because’ set, using black Archival ink.

It was then back to my favourite Pergaliner pencils to colour the flowers and leaves with the AYSI shades. I do enjoy doing this – you really start to see all the intricate detail of the image.

I finished by running a black Sharpie around the card edge, added a yellow mount from the Waimea Falls companion paper and attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

So, as I said earlier, these stamps will be launching tomorrow on Create and Craft TV, but that’s not all… It will be my debut as part of Clarity’s TV presenting team!! I’m equally excited and nervous – all my demonstrations are prepped and ready to go, so hopefully both shows (at 1pm & 4pm UK time) will run smoothly – check back here tomorrow for an update on how it all went!

Wow, Deb, how sweet is this?? Loved reading the detail of your process for this one, too – so carefully thought out, with a fabulous result! That sponged step just sets all the perfect detail off beautifully!

What a clever way to create the yellow frame for the floral heart. I hope your presentation went well – i’m sure it did. I don’t think we can get that channel here, or I’d be watching. 🙂

Beautiful, Deb! I love how you concentrated on the yellow, and that also toned down the other colours, quite a bit. The demure look of the floral heart is so appealing! Thanks for sharing your process, too!

I love the effect of the stencilled yellow heart Deborah – it really makes the pretty floral heart shine! I think I’d have been tempted to make my heart pink, but it would have been a mistake for sure – that yellow if fabulous! Great use of this week’s colour palette.
