sparkly trees

Hello crafty friends. I’m feeling very pleased with myself today having used up another piece from my stash box! This image with ClarityCrafts ‘three way treescape’ stamp set has been sat waiting to be used since early July, when I joined the Clarity community for A Moment of Clarity with Barbara Gray. I remember thinking at the time that it would make a good Christmas card – and here it is!

If I remember correctly, I stamped the outline image with black Archival ink onto one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card. I sponged ‘blueprint sketch’ Distress Oxide onto the background stamp, lightly spritzed it with water and stamped it over the outline.

I ran a black Sharpie around the card edges, then attached it to a 5×5 card blank that I’d created a square embedded frame onto. I wanted to add sparkle to the trees, to went over the branches and the base of the trunks with a Sakura Quickie glue pen (it’s at this point that you realise how detailed the image is!) and sprinkled ‘hint of blue’ Perga-Glitter over it. The only thing left to do was to leave it to dry…

Hope you like it! I’m going to share it with the challenges at Time Out for their ‘sparkly’ theme, TGIF who are looking for a white Christmas, and Peace on Earth – I thought it picked up the influence of their moodboard.
