Clarity Craft Club lookback – twirls stencil

Hello crafty friends and welcome to another installment of what is now becoming an occasional series of dips back into Clarity‘s Craft Club. This time I’ve pulled out the ‘twirls’ stencil (#96) and made a group of thank you cards with the colours from Color Dare, which I’ll also share with Stencil Fun.

I started with a square of Clarity’s stencil card and used a strip of masking tape to attach the stencil along one side. As It’s frameless I’ll have to move the tape when I get to that area so I’m starting at the opposite side. I brushed ‘wilted violet’ Distress Oxide across the centre of the stencil, then added ‘picked raspberry’ along the bottom third, blending it up into the purple. I put a new strip of tape along the bottom of the stencil, where I’d blended the pink, before removing the strip along the top, so the stencil didn’t move. I could then brush ‘mermaid lagoon’ across the top part, again blending it down into the central purple area.

I chopped the card into four small squares to make toppers for my cards, mounting two of them onto black card and two onto white, then stamped one of the ‘occasions sentiments’ into place.

I’d used different coloured mounts as I wanted to use black and white 5×5 card blanks, which then gave me the contrast frames for the toppers. I used a square embedder to create a frame on each card front and then attached the toppers in the centre.

I hope you’ve all had a good weekend – can you believe it’s only two more weeks to Christmas?!
