Hello crafty friends and welcome to another look at the new ‘summer tags & frames’ stamps from ClarityCrafts, this time with the hexagon sunflowers frame. I’ve picked up the watercolour challenge from Happy Little Stampers – you’ll see where in a minute if you haven’t spotted it already!
The first step was to stamp the sunflower hexagon twice using ‘watering can’ Archival ink onto a square of stencil card that I’d cut to fit a 6×6 card blank – I just overlapped them without any masking. I then used ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide and a waterbrush add colour – I kept it dark and painted a ‘scruffy’ line for the frames, followed by a light watercolour wash in the background to give the sense of sky. Once the ink was dry, I shaded in the flowers using Pergaliner pencils.
I stamped the hexagon a third time onto a scrap piece of card, coloured it in the same way, added the sentiment in ‘watering can’ and then fussy cut it.
I mounted the square of card onto a layer of Rainbow River companion paper and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I popped a scrap piece of card onto the back of the fussy cut piece to give it a little dimension and added it to the card front. I finished by drawing a few birds with a micron pen.
Thanks for dropping in. It’s gearing up to be a busy week as we start the countdown to Christmas, but I’ll be back with another card tomorrow.
LOVE the sunflowers!
