As You See It challenge – speedy stars

Hello again and welcome to our latest speed stamping challenge at As You See It – it was my turn to choose the theme this time & I went with stars. For my card I’ve used one of ClarityCrafts ‘Merry Little Christmas’ quote stamps, the stars from their ‘Christmas rounds – Santa’ set and some quick heat embossing.

There’s no step by step images to share today as it’s a speed challenge, so I wasn’t about to stop & take photos! For this, you can get everything out and ready on your desk to start, but you must start the clock as soon as you pick up your stamps or make the first cut, and then the race is on to finish in less than 10 minutes! Here’s my starting position…

I painted a wash of ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide onto a piece of Clarity’s stencil card and dried it with my heat gun. I rubbed the card with an anti-static pad, stamped the stars and the Christmas quote onto the background using Versamark ink, then heat embossed them with WOW’s bright white powder. I added a mount of dark blue card and attached the whole piece to a 6×6 card blank.

And you’ll want to know how long this took? The longest part was getting the card thoroughly dried with the heat gun!
