Hello crafty friends! I’m still not done with Christmas cards, but decided to go with non-traditional colours on today’s ‘winter linocut – log cabin’ stamp set from ClarityCrafts, thanks to the colours at Inspire.Create, and picking up the moodboard from Peace on Earth

The linocut stamp is a two-step image so I started with the trees (the right hand stamp), sponging ‘stormy sky’ and ‘dusty concord’ Distress Oxides onto the stamp then adding it to the front of a 5×5 card blank. I sponged a little of the ‘stormy sky’ for the cabin’s shade onto the second stamp, plus ‘squeezed lemonade’ across the sky and stamped it over the first image. I found it easier to do it this way rund, as I could line up the second stamp over the trees in the first one.

All I then needed to do was frame the image with a rectangular embedder and add the sentiment, again using the ‘stormy sky’.

I’ve been making a few one layer cards recently – Clarity’s embedders are perfect for framing an image with needing to add additional layers. What do you think of my colours, though?
