Clarity Craft Club lookback – heart of hearts stencil

Welcome to Sunday and an overdue dip back into Clarity’s Craft Club stencils – today it’s the ‘heart of hearts’ stencil (#95). I decided to go with the lovely colours from Global Design Project and the layout from Freshly Made Sketches to make a bright birthday card for Seize the Birthday

I attached the stencil to a piece of white card and ran it through my embossing machine to give the hearts a little definition. I sponged ‘festive berries’, ‘twisted citron’ & ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxides through the large hearts, then just ‘kissed’ the small hearts with the red sponge without adding any more ink.

I stamped one of the ‘occasions’ sentiments onto a strip of card using the ‘festive berries’, mounted it on a piece of ‘Waimea Falls companion paper and added it below the stencilled hearts.

I took a 6×6 card blank, added a strip of the Wiamea Falls paper down each side and two small bits of white card (the same width as the sentiment strip) that I’d cut into a banner at the ends, before attaching the topper to the card front. The final touch was a trio of little red Glossies hearts.

What was a weekly Craft Club project for me has now become more of an occasional series due to all my design team work! Don’t forget, if you’re not a craft club member you can get back issues on the Clarity website here.
