twinkle twinkle little star

Hello crafty friends. I’ve been showcasing the new Christmas quote stamps from ClarityCrafts over the last few days, but what I haven’t shown you are the A5 postcards that go with them as well. They’re the same quotes as the stamps, but in a larger font and perfect for adding your own decoration to.

I decided to use another of the Christmas rounds stencils – the stars were an obvious choice! I cut the postcard down to a square, attached the stencil with a hinge of low tack tape and sponged ‘scattered straw’ Distress Oxide through it. Using a tape hinge meant that I could open up the stencil from the card to clean the ink off, then lay it back down in the same place and sponge WOW’s clear embossing ink through it so I could heat emboss the stars with ‘clear sparkle’ powder.

I took a coordinating piece of Northern Lights companion paper and used one of the ‘doodle frame-it panel’ dies to cut a mat, then mounted the postcard on it and attached the whole piece to a black 7×7 card blank.

There’s so much potential in these postcards – they work with stencils and stamps (I haven’t tried die cutting them yet…) For now, I’m sharing this card with the stencil challenges at Happy Little Stampers and Stencil Fun
