Hello crafty friends. Today’s card features another of the new floral aperture framer dies from ClarityCrafts, this time the ‘snowdrops’ one which I decided would pair up nicely with the ‘SHAC snowdrop’ stamp set.

I cut a square of Waimea Falls designer paper & edged it with a black Sharpie & a ruler (it’s easiest to do this first when the paper is intact and therefore more stable). I attached a piece of Stick It adhesive sheet to the back, then cut the snowdrops die into the paper and attached it to a 7×7 card blank. I had left the cut pieces in the die (a few fell out) – the easiest way to do this is to keep the die face down and then gently lift the die cut off the back. I then picked out each of the flowers & leaves pieces in turn, removed the backing paper and stuck them into the die cut – just like doing a jigsaw but with a mirror image! I realised quite quickly that I’d rotated the die unintentionally, but I liked the effect as the paper pieced inserts were not exactly the same shade as the outline.

I stamped one of the ‘SHAC snowdrop’ images into the centre square & shaded it with Pergaliners

I rather like the soft colours on this one – very reminscent of snowdrops! I’m going to share this card with the challenge at Time Out – although the colours on this are more muted, it does pick up the flowers and leaves from the bag in their inspiration photo.

Deborah… just lovely… the soft pastels make this card. Plus two stamp/die companies I have never heard of… I will be checking them out. Thanks so much for joining and sharing at Time Out this week.
