Welcome to my crafty blog and another set of the new ‘Linda’s bijou children’ stamps that ClarityCrafts are launching today. This time it’s the ‘winter’ set and I just fell in love with this little girl posting her Christmas cards!

I started with the ‘Glistening winter’ trees from Linda’s Christmas Compendium, and heat embossed them with WOW superfine bright white powder onto grey card. I then stamped & heat embossed ‘Christmas’ before scattering WOW ultra high white powder across the top of the card & heating it. The trick with doing this is to sprinkle the ultra high powder lightly while holding the card flat and then heat it from underneath (and don’t cough or sneeze or you’ll lose the lot!)

I added a layer of white paper, then a mount of the grey card and attached the topper to a 7×7 card blank.

I stamped the girl and the postbox onto a scrap piece of white card and coloured them with Pergacolour pens, using two reds to get the shading. I fussy cut both pieces and attached them to the card front with foam pads.

I really love the impact of the bright red against the grey & white background.

There’ll be lots more inspiration from my Clarity design teamies on Create & Craft TV today at 3pm in Barbara’s show, and you can get a closer look at their cards on the Clarity Worldwide Facebook page. I’m going to share this a bit further afield as well, with The Holly and Ivy and Peace on Earth challenges

Living in Canada means I don’t see this type of letter box anymore. Love the card, it brings back memories for me.

Thank you! Where did you used to live?

Until I was 25 I lived in the Midlands U.K. Raised and educated there, but actually born in the Netherlands. I’ve lived in Canada longer than I lived in the UK.

I was brought up in Nottinghamshire so we’ve got a Midlands connection!

Funny how connections appear. There is a member of my design team at Cardz4galz who is also from Nottinghamshire. I visited the town on a school trip many years ago. Latter part of my teen years were spent in Nuneaton.
