birthday joy for AAA Birthday challenge

Hello crafty friends. I’ve got a busy blogging day today, starting off with the exciting news that I’m Guest Designer for the new challenge at AAA Birthday!

The new challenge is to use a large sentiment on your card – the ‘feel good two-way overlay’ stamps from ClarityCrafts were ideal, together with the new ‘star flowers spray’ stencil and I’m also going to share this with the ‘anything goes’ theme at Seize the Birthday.

I started with the ‘star flower’ stencil on a square of white card and sponged ‘carved pumpkin’ and ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxides through it. I stamped the ‘joy’ outline in black Archival ink and then added the infill stamp in ‘carved pumpkin’.

I added ‘birthday’ from the ‘entwined sentiments’ stamp set, then mounted the card on a coordinating layer of card and onto a 6×6 card blank.

So how would you use a large sentiment on your card? There’s more inspiration from the design team over at AAA Birthday to get you started – come on over and play!

  1. Your card is so pretty, love the autumnal tones. And the large ‘joy’ is such an unusual and different way to send birthday greetings. Thanks so much for guesting with us at AAA Birthday this month.

  2. Congrats on your new gig, I am sure it will be fun for you. Your card for this challenge has such a free look to it. Almost a CAS card and I love the look. Thanks for joining us at Seize the Birthday Challenge.
