sunflower panel

Hello crafty friends. Today, I’m having a first play with the latest stamp from ClarityCrafts Craft Club – this month it’s a sunflower panel image. I thought it would work for the layout at Freshly Made Sketches together with the colours from Hand Stamped Sentiments.

So my first step was to stamp the sunflower panel with ‘watering can’ ink (the closest I’d got to the ‘pebbled path’) and then shade the flowers with orange and purple Pergaliner pencils, using a blending pen & nib to smooth out the colours. I then cut the panel in half and fussy cut it around the petals. I also stamped several of the ‘entwined sentiments’ onto a square of card, again in ‘watering can’. I cut another piece of card for the backing section and stamped the large leaves from the ‘birch trees’ stamp set in ‘evergreen bough’ Distress Oxide.

I glued the two sunflower pieces onto either end of the sentiment square, added another piece of scrap card in the centre so it sat flat and attached it to the backing section.

I mounted the topper onto a coordinating piece of Northern Lights companion paper and attached it to a 5×7 card blank.

I’ve had a great day today meeting up with friends and former colleagues at the annual meeting for the Barts League of Nurses in central London – as always there were so many stories to share!
