it is what it is

Hello crafty friends. I keep playing with the new quote stamps from http://www.ClarityCrafts.com – they’re such a brilliant range of sentiments that work on so many levels. I’ve taken the layout from Freshly Made Sketches for this card (I flipped it) with the palette from Color Throwdown and am also going to share this with Simply Clean & Simple

I started with a piece of card cut to fit a 5×7 blank and stamped the upper outline butterfly from the ‘SHAC peace – Japanese flowers & butterflies’ set in ‘cobalt’ Archival ink. I then added quote stamp, followed by the sceond butterfly, both in the ‘cobalt’. I used my stamping platform for the next stage so I could line up the infill butterfly stamp, adding ‘broken china’ & ‘ripe persimmon’ Distress Oxides to it with Clarity’s spot-on sponges.

To finish I mounted it on a layer of navy card and attacehd it to a 5×7 card blank. I felt it still needed a little something more, so added the little scribbled line from the set to sit below the quote.

I’m surprised I haven’t used this stamp before now – it’s one of my favourite comments on life when I know I just can’t change something!
