Guest designer at CAS Colours & Sketches

Hello there crafty friends! I’ve got exciting news, as I’ve been invited along as guest designer with one of my favourite challenges CAS Colours & Sketches for the next three months. I’m really looking forward to being part of the team and my first offering is in my happy place with a colour challenge. I’ve used ClarityCrafts ‘linocut daisy’ stamps on my card, inspired by the sketch at Just Add Ink.

The linocut stamps are two-way overlay sets, with one creating the main image and the other filling in the backgroud. I started with the background one and stamped it using ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide. I then sponged ‘mustard seed’ and ‘kitsch flamingo’ onto the second stamp to colour in the flowers (I used my stamping platform for this part so I had the stamp lined up), together with a little ‘shadow grey’ Archival across the ground at the bottom.

I trimmed the card down and ran a black Sharpie around the edges. I used a rectangular embedder to create an indented frame in the front of a 6×6 card blank and attached the topper.

To finish, I added a word sticker and three blue enamel dots to pick up JAI’s sketch (I tried a bow in the top corner but it didn’t look right!)

Thanks for dropping in. How will you use the colours from CAS C&S? There’s more inspiration over on their blog from the design team to get you started.
