Merry Christmas penguins

Welcome to my crafty blog and another visit to the new ‘Merry Christmas’ aperture framer die from ClarityCrafts, which I’ve paired up with the ‘family of penguins’ stamp set – aren’t they just the cutest?

This time, after die cutting the Merry Christmas framer into a piece of Indian Summer designer paper which I’d backed with a layer of thin double sided adhesive sheet, I used the inner die from the set to cut out the centre and a nested circle die for the outer edge. Having remembered to put the adhesive layer on the back it was then easy to attach to a 6×6 card blank.

I then simply stamped the little penguin pair into the centre (directly onto the card front). I brushed a little ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across a landscape mask to give them ground to stand on and coloured their hearts with Pergaliner pencils.

So simple, but these dies have real impact! I’m going to share this card with Just Add Ink for their wildlife theme, plus The Holly and Ivy and Merry Little Christmas challenges.
