Merry Christmas circle die

Welcome to my crafty blog and a sneak peek at one of the new Christmas Sentiments aperture framer dies that ClarityCrafts are releasing tomorrow. For this card, I’ve teamed the die with ‘Tina’s Robins – 2 way overlay Christmas Ornaments’ stamps.

My first step was to cut the die into a 15cm (6×6) square of white card. There are no outer edges on it, so it cuts an aperture into your card stock

I then stamped the robin & ornament from Tina’s 2 way Christams ornaments collection into the central circle, using the infill stamp to colour the robin with ‘festive berries’ & ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxides and Pergaliners for the hanging ornament. I didn’t have a circle mask the right size to cover the die cut, so used a series of little pieces of low tack tape around the edge of the inner circle and then brushed inks across Clarity’s clouds & landscape masks to create the background.

I finished with a mount of Waimea Falls designer paper and attached it to a 7×7 card blank

There are three new dies in this collection and I’m looking forward to seeing what the rest of the design team have done with them. In the meantime, I’m heading off to share this card with the challenges at The Card Concept (I’ve picked up the bird and the circle design), Peace on Earth (the red in this card reflects their inspiration photo) and Happy Little Stampers for their Christmas and Dies challenges.
