balancing penguins

Hello there. Well, on the hottest UK day of the year so far I thought we could all do with some cool vibes from my last DT card featuring the ClarityCrafts Letterbox Penguins that were launched last weekend. After the complete minimalism of yesterday’s card, I think I may have slightly overdone it on this one!! I’ll be sharing it with Festive Friday (although it’s not a card of thanks, it does pick up teal, yellow and die cuts from their inspo list) and with Happy Little Stampers dies challenge.

I started by stamping out several of the penguin letterboxes in black ink on scrap card & cutting them out with the co-ordinating dies. I added the letters to spell ‘christmas’ with the penguin alphabet stamps and shaded them with Pergaliner pencils. Now at this point, I should explain that Percy did not want to be in the photo (he was needed to make up the numbers) so refused to remove his hat & scarf & is holding his letter upside down in protest! Nothing to do with my stamping ability…!

I glued the penguins onto a piece of Northern Lights card to make a Christmas tree shape, starting with the bottom row & tucking the others in behind. Now before everyone gets all David Attenborough on me, I know that’s impossible for penguins but Clarity don’t make any aurora australis (southern lights) paper, so let’s just live with it!

I attached it to a 5×7 card blank and finished with some appropriate word stickers.

Thanks for dorpping in and I hope you’re surviving the heat! I’ve been working on some more design team samples this afternoon – there are a few more Clarity TV shows coming up over the next few weeks, so stay tuned!

  2. Ah, the penguin pyramid is super adorable! And I love the background of Northern lights, never mind how things work in reality! Thank you so much for joining us at the Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenge!
