bijou notecards

Hello again! What a fantastic weekend for http://www.ClarityCrafts.com celebrating their 30th birthday in business! This fabulous sampler set of bijou block print stamps was made from Barbara’s linocut designs and are just perfect for Clarity’s bijou cards & envelopes. I used several of them to make a set of little notecards.

The block print stamps are square, so I wanted to use two together to create a rectangular image. I paired up several stamps that I thought would work well together, starting with the house and the trees. I masked off the right hand border on the house stamp with low tack tape, inked it with ‘peat moss’ Archival, removed the tape & stamped on the card. I repeated the process with the trees stamp, this time masking off the left hand border before inking, and stamped it to flow on from the house image.

I drew a deckled edge around the image with a micron pen and added one of the ‘bijou art nouveau’ sentiments to finish. I then made another three using different pairs of stamps from the set, changing the colour for each.

These would make a great little gift with the little bijou envelopes that come with the cards, tied together with a ribbon.
