mistletoe bauble

This really is the weekend that keeps on giving! Today sees the launch of another new set of stamps in ClarityCrafts‘ KISS range – ‘Build a Bauble’, and I’ve given the mistletoe patterned bauble the starring role on my card.

I started by inking the bauble background stamp around the edge with ‘paradise teal’ Archival ink & stamped it onto watercolour card. I then added the mistletoe pattern using ‘library green’ Archival and shaded the leaves with a Pergaliner pencil

I covered the bauble with a circle mask and used low tack tape to create a border around the card edges. I then watercoloured the background with a large flat paintbrush, using ‘chipped sapphire’, ‘peacock feathers’ & ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxides and added some splatters with the ‘chipped sapphire’. I left it to dry thoroughly, before stamping the bauble topper in place and drawing the string with a micron pen and a ruler.

I used the large square embedder to create a frame on a black 7×7 card blank and then mounted the topper into the centre.

I decided to leave it without a sentiment, but you could easily add one with either a word sticker or a stamp. There are more fantastic designs and inspiration from my Clarity team-mates over on the Clarity Worldwide Facebook page for you to check out. I’m going to also share this with Happy Little Stampers for their watercolour challenge and Atlantic Hearts for the slightly loose interpretation of their sketch.
