have an ice day

Welcome to my crafty blog and a second outing for the fabulous new ‘penguin billboards’ and alphabet stamps from ClarityCrafts that are being launched today as part of their 30th birthday weelend – they’re just so cute!

I couldn’t resist a bit of a pun with this card for our new challenge at Love to Craft – as always the theme is ‘anything goes’. I’m also sharing it with AAA birthday – their theme this month is ‘animals’ and I hope birds will count! As we head out of summer I need to sort out my suppply of wintery birthday cards so this is another one in the bank.

I started by stamping one of the penguin billboards onto a piece of Clarity’s Antarctica designer card and heat embossed them with clear powder.

I added the phrase starting with the ‘have a’ stamp from the billboard set and then used the ‘Penguin alphabet’ letters to finish it. I added some colour with a Pergaliner pencil.

Next was the small snowflake from the ‘SHAC bauble – Merry Christmas’ set, stamped a few times with clear ink and heat embossed with WOW’s white superfine powder

To finish, I simply ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and attached it to a 5×7 card blank.

Don’t you just love these little penguins? I’m so glad Clarity have brought them out to complement their gnomes and elves collections. Don’t forget to come and play along with us at Love to Craft as well – there’s more inspiration on the blog from the rest of the design team and we’d love to see you in our gallery!
