penguin Christmas joy

Hello there! ClarityCrafts are celebrating their 30th anniversary this weekend and the celebrations are kicking off tomorrow (Friday) with the launch of the adorable penguin stamps and dies collection. I’ve got an early peek of one of the ‘penguin billboard’ stamps for you today – I just love these images!

The first step was to stamp the billboard onto a square of card using black Versafine Clair ink. I covered the image with the precut mask that comes with the stamps so I could add the tree behind it. For this, I used the large tree from the ‘deep in the forest’ set designed by Linda Williams that was released a couple of weeks ago. The tree wasn’t tall enough to go the full height of the billboard, so I first stamped it at the top of the image. I then cut a mask from an all-over sticky note, covered the first tree and stamped it again to fill in the bottom part.

I cut another mask to cover the lower part of tree and brushed ‘broken china’ & mowed lawn’ Distress Oxides across the whole image to colour the background.

I sat and shaded the presents and tree with Pergaliner pencils, using grey Polychromos to added a drop shadow. I then stamped the sentiment from the set and coloured the letters.

I didn’t think it needed anything else adding to it, so just ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and attached it to a 7×7 card blank.

It’s going to be a fun-filled weekend with Clarity, with more goodies launching on Saturday & Sunday as well! Check out the Clarity home page for the full schedule of TV shows so you don’t miss anything! In the meantime, I’m off to share this card with the challenges at Peace on Earth Christmas, The Holly & Ivy and Time Out (my little penguins know all about sustainable living and have planted out their Christmas tree so they can use it year after year!)
