CAS grunge!

Hello crafty friends! Today’s card is a bit of a mixture of styles – you all know I’m a CAS (clean & simple) girl at heart, so even when I try and do something more grungy it still ends up in a CAS style, which is exactly what I’m offering today! I’ve used a few ClarityCrafts products on this card, inspired by several blog challenges. AAA cards are looking for cards for teenagers and I’ve CASE’d the layout from Inspire Create with the colours from the right hand column of Color Dare‘s chart.

I started with a square of white card and stamped the ‘linocut – distressed backdrop’ onto it – I just partly inked the stamp so the image didn’t cover the whole card. I then stamped the little patterned circles from the ‘happy – grunge elements’ set in ‘mermaid lagoon’ & ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxides. I added the stars using the stencil from the ‘Christmas rounds’ set, blending ‘chipped sapphire’ through a little area and moving it a few times, as I didn’t want the full circle.

I mounted the topper on a layer of dark blue card and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I cut several small stars from the ‘thank you aperture’ die that was a bonus gift at the start of the 2021 Craft Clubusing scrap white card. I trimmed the larger star out of the die cut and blended ‘chipped saphhire’ over the centre insert, then glued them all on the card front, finishing with a couple of word stickers.

And that’s about as grungy as it gets in my world!

  1. I love the grunge style! And you did it very well on this pretty card. Love the color combo – I think it’s perfect for a guy, but still good for a girl, too. Thank you for sharing with us at Color Dare.
