merry & bright Christmas

Hello crafty friends. I’ve still been playing with the new ‘Linda’s Christmas Compendium’ stamps released by ClarityCrafts and today it’s the turn of the ‘deep in the forest’ set. For this design I’ve CASE’d (copy and selectively edit) a card my friend Joanne James made a few years ago, and just used the small tree from the set. I’m going to share this one with Christmas Craft Creations for their CAS theme and with Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge.

I started by taping off a panel across the upper part of a white card square. I added the hills mask & a mini moon, then brushed ‘chipped sapphire’ & a little ‘black soot’ Distress Oxides into the space. I stamped the small tree three times along the horizon while the mask was still in place.

I covered the sky with the other part of the mask, then used the first part to create the snow drifts, lightly brushing the ‘chipped sapphire’ across it without putting any more ink onto my brush. I stamped the small tree twice more, again using the mask so they look like they’re buried in the snow.

I added one of the supplementary sentiments from the ‘Occasions – Merry Christmas’ set. I finished by sprinkling a little of WOW’s white ultra high embossing powder aross sky (keeping the card level!) and heated it from below – it creates a lovely effect of falling snow. Once set, I attached the topper to a 6×6 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in – I hope you’re weekend is going well.
