holly robins

Hello crafty friends! I’m sharing more new goodies from ClarityCrafts with the delightful ‘Linda’s Christmas Compendium’ stamps – these were previously available as Groovi plates for parchment craft but today have been launched as A6 stamp sets 😍 There are 5 sets in the collection and I’ve used two of them (‘winter wishes’ & ‘deep in the forest’) on this card (even though it’s very CAS!)

Funnily enough, it’s the bottom stamp from each set that I’ve combined together on my card! I stamped the merry little robins and the holly spray Versafine Clair black ink onto a square of white card & heat embossed them with clear powder. I then watercoloured the images using ‘walnut stain’, ‘festive berries’ & ‘lucky clover’ Distress Oxides and my waterbrush.

I added the ‘winter wishes’ stentiment, again in the black ink and heat embossed with the clear powder. It’s always a good idea to leave your art work for a while after heat embossing, as the card distorts slightly so give it time to relax back into shape and go flat (I often put mine under a box of card to help flatten it back down). I then mounted it on green Amazonia companion paper and onto a 6×6 card blank.

There’s so much potential in these stamp sets, whether you want to go CAS like me or create a more intricate scene. More to follow over the next few days! Until then, I’m off to share this offering with Addicted to CAS for their ‘leaves’ theme, Christmas Craft Creations who helpfully want CAS designs this month, and Happy Little Stampers for their watercolour challenge – those robins are definitely happily chirping away!

  1. I always love a robin image Deborah and love that you chose the holly leaves as the perfect perch for them to get together for a bit of caroling! Thank you for coming to play with my Leaves challenge at Addicted to CAS, Vicky x

  2. Such a gorgeous card Deborah – I have a soft spot for robins and these are such cute images – love the way you’ve combined them with the holly. Fabulous colouring too – thanks for sharing with us at Christmas Craft Creations.
