The latest Craft Club stamps from ClarityCrafts dropped through my letterbox last Friday, so I treated myself to a quick play with it at the weekend! I thought it might work for the layout at Hand Stamped Sentiments, using the colours from Inspire.Create and the top row of flowers, green & embossing from The Paper Players‘ tic-tac-toe grid.

I strated with a couple of squares of white card. I brushed ‘evergeen bough’ Distress Oxide across the lower doaginal on the first one, adding two lines with a black Sharpie to reflect HSS’s sketch. I then repeat stamped the flowers on the top diagonal section of the other card and watercoloured them with ‘squeezed lemonade’ and ‘evergreen bough’ – it wasn’t until I was doing this that I noticed there were little leaves scattered amongst the flowers!

Next was to fussy cut the triangle of flowers along the diagonal edge. You can just see that, before gluing them onto the base card, I widened the top stripe with my Sharpie which looked more balanced. I hadn’t expected the flowers to block out as much of the stripes as they have, so apologies to the HSS team for a rather loose interpretation of their layout!

I stamped one of the ‘buttercup doodles’ sentiments onto scrap card and then heat embossed it with clear powder, which always makes it pop nicely, then did the same with the little flowers. After watercolouring them with the ‘squeezed lemonade’ I cut the sentiment out with a nested circle die. I stamped some of the small leaves from the set, coloured them with ‘evergreen bough’ and fussy cut them, then glued them all onto the card front.

I mounted the card onto a layer of black, then attached it to a 6×6 card blank, before finishing with a few butterflies from the ‘floral frames – happy birthday’ set which I’d coloured with ‘villainous potion’ Distress Oxide, fussy cut and glued into place.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m rather taken with these flowers, so you may well be seeing them again!
