in the garden of life

Hello crafty friends. I’m back with the last of my design team samples for this week’s launch of the new SHAC Vases & Foliage stamp set. My Clarity design team-mates have produced some amazingly creative samples, but I’ve stayed firmly in my happy CAS place with my designs, going for a bit of an outdoor look on this one.

I started by stamping the small vase base image in ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide, and then added the pattern overlay in ‘potting soil’ Archival ink. I stamped the large leaves in ‘watering can’ Archival, then cut masks for them from an all-over sticky note & stamped the leafy stems to sit behind them.

I masked the vase & leaves again so that I could add the ground with Clarity’s ‘brick wall’ stencil, brushing ‘pumice stone’ across it (I was trying to make it look liek a patio area…). The clouds mask was then brushed with ‘speckled egg’ for the sky. After removing the masks, I shaded the leaves with Pergaliner pencils.

I popped the sentiment from the set into palce and added a flock of birds, before mounting the card onto a kraft card layer and attaching it to a 6×6 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. The plants in the pots on my decking area are looking pretty well at the moment thanks to the rain we keep having, but I’d really appreciate some sunshine again soon!
