Clarity Craft Club lookback – flower mandala die

Welcome to my crafty blog and another dip back into Clarity’s Craft Club. This week it’s the turn of the ‘nested flower mandala’ die (#38) from March 2022, which I’ve teamed up with one of the ‘Cherry’s butterflies and moths’ stamps (currently on offer at 60% off!)

I’ve gone with the gorgeous hot colours from Creative Colour Challenges and the Freshly Made Sketches layout, together with the ‘wish’ theme from Addicted to CAS

I started by cutting the inner two parts of the die (there are three altogether) in each of the three colours using companion papers from the Rainbow River & Waimea Falls sets, and then playing around with them to decide how best to use them. In the end, I opted for the pink centres sat on the solid teal centres from cutting the middle dies (which does leave me more die cuts to play with for future cards!) I ran a strip of the teal paper across a piece of card to fit an A6 card blank and then glued the die cuts on top.

I stamped the butterfly ono a section of Waimea Falls paper which had the right tones, brought out the colours by adding shading with Pergaliner pencils, fussy cut it and attached it to the card.

I mounted the card on a layer of the teal Rainbow River companion paper and attached it to the A6 card blank, finishing with a stamped sentiment and a few pink Glossies dots.

Thanks for dropping in! There’s been a definite theme of butterflies running through my cards this week – let’s see what next week brings!
