birthday stencil

Welcome to another post sharing the new circular decorative stencils from ClarityCrafts that were launched yesterday. This time I’ve used the ‘peace’ stencil, which features a gorgeous lotus flowers design, together with one of the ‘bijou ribbon sentiments’ stamps

I started by hingeing the stencil onto a piece of white card, attaching the centre circle stencil as well, and then used Clarity’s spot-on sponges to add Distress Oxide inks through it. I first sponged ‘mowed lawn’ around the centre and ‘broken china’ on the outer edge, trying to leave the flowers clear before adding ‘picked raspberry’ to them. I then ran the whole piece through my Gemini embossing machine to give the flowers a little more dimension. That was a good idea, but I made a rookie error in forgetting to remove the central circle, which left me with a nice imprint of the masking tape that had been sat underneath it!

It couldn’t stay as it was, so I grabbed a nested circle die to cut the middle out of the card, then edged it with a black Sharpie and attached it to a 7×7 card blank.

I finished by just stamping the ‘bijou ribbon sentiment’ in the centre using black Versafine Clair ink, which left the floral circle as the starring feature.

Thanks for dropping in. Did you manage to get yourself any of these stamps & stencils before they sold out? If you didn’t they are now available on Clarity’s website and there are some good intrroductory offers on them too!

I’m popping over to Happy Little Stampers to link this card up with their birthday challenge, as well as the ‘circle’ topping at Seize the Birthday and the optional ‘birthday’ theme at Stencil Fun

  1. It’s just something about using pastel colors that makes a card look dreamy. That’s what I think when I see your card and I’m sure the recipient will too. Very creative of you. Thanks so much for joining us at Seize the Birthday Challenge.
