Hello there! I’m back with another card using the ‘simple rose’ stencil from last month’s Clarity Craft Club and a bit of inspiration from my sister at the weekend when she was making a card with it! There’s nothing too complicated about this one, in keeping with the stencil’s name!
I laid the stencil across the corner of a square of white card to start with, so it flowed over the edges. As It’s frameless, the easiest way to anchor it down is to tape it to your craft mat or a piece of copy paper, and then also tape the card down as well at the opposite corner so that doesn’t move either. I then brushed Distress Oxides through it, sweeping the ink over the edges of the stencil to get the whole design. I used ‘kitsch flamingo’ & ‘festive berries’ for the flowers and ‘bundled sage’ & ‘rustic wilderness’ for the leaves, laying down the lighter shades first, then focusing the deeper colours in the centres of the flowers & leaves.
I added the sentiment using one of the Occasions stamp sets as I’ll use this for a wedding card, mounted the card onto a piece of ‘Indian Summer’ companion paper and attached it to a 7×7 card blank.
So happy with how this turned out! I’m sharing it with a brand new challenge, Simply Clean & Simple whose optional theme is ‘roses are red, violets are blue’, and with Addicted to CAS for their ‘celebration’ theme.
