garden bloom butterfly

Greetings crafty friends and welcome to Monday’s blog. I spent a fab couple of hours yesterday afternoon having an online crafting session with my sister – we were both playing with the latest Craft Club goodies from ClarityCrafts. I’d already christened the ‘garden bloom butterfly’ stamp last week, but it was a sunny afternoon so out it came for another flutter around! I thought it would work well with the beautiful new colour palette at The Paper Players, the sketch at Global Design Project and the bottom row of diecut, gems & critter (obviously the butterfly!) from TicTacToe‘s grid.

I started by blending a soft sky with Clarity’s ‘clouds’ mask and ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxide onto the centre of a 5×7 card. I added one of the frames from the ‘woodland aperture two way overlay’ die set, which I’d cut in teal card.

I then stamped the butterfly onto a scrap piece of white card and coloured it with a couple of Pergaliner pencils, using a micron pen to fill in the body. I then fussy cut it and attached it to the card front.

I finished with an appropriate word sticker and a couple of co-ordinating Glossies heart gems.

So here we are well into July already! It’s a busy week ahead in the Clarity stables – there are TV shows on Create & Craft on Thursday & Friday when Barbara & Paul will be launching fabulous new stamps and stencils. Watch this space for my design team cards later in the week.

  1. Beautiful, Deborah! I love the clouds peeking from behind this gorgeous die cut. The butterfly is stunning. Thank you for playing in my color challenge at the The Paper Players this week!
