I’m back with another CAS card today featuring the ‘by the seaside’ background stamp from ClarityCrafts, inspired by the current challenges at The Paper Players, Hand Stamped Sentiments and Inspired by

I started by creating a rectangular embossed frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank with one of Clarity’s embedders. I then lined up one of the smaller stamps from the ‘by the seaside’ set to sit within the frame using my stamping platform and inked the lower part with ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide, stamping it onto the card front. I sponged ‘mermaid lagoon’ onto the rest of the lower part of the stamp and added that to the card, finishing with ‘speckled egg’ for the sky.

I added a couple of seagulls from the ‘butterflies & birds silhouette miniatures’ stamp set, together with grasses from the ‘family miniatures’ stamps.

All it needed to finish was one of the ‘petite sentiments’ stamps.

This really made me think of those remote beach areas you can find in Norfolk or Lincolnshire on the east coast (although the sea is far too blue for the North Sea!) I wonder if those seagulls are heading off in search of holidaymakers clutching icecreams or chips for them to dive bomb…?!

  2. The view from my home is something similar to this scene except with more trees as one looks down. Love how you created this one. It is a perfect beach scene.

  3. Oh I love this – such a perfect serene scene and those lovely stamps. Dare I say I have never heard of Clarity Stamps! And are they in the UK?
